    • Canadian Distributor Website: gourmettrading.com

  • Why aren't there single products available?

    • Some of you were used to purchasing single pieces of different products when you placed an order on our website. The only way for us to decrease both the time it takes to get the order to you and the shipping cost was to reduce the choice to two options only on each item. We hope you agree it was a tradeoff worth making.

Ingredients

  • Are your products organic?

    • While many of our products are organic; all are made with simple, clean Non-GMO natural ingredients. The Organic ones have Certified Organic Markings on their labels and in the description on the website.

  • Are your products non-GMO?

    • While not all products are as yet certified through Project Non-GMO; all of our products are made without any bioengineering. We are engaged with Project Non-GMO to have the rest of the line certified, but it takes time. Also, the majority of our line is produced in Europe where the laws are different. In Europe, if a product contains GMOs, they must state it on the label – and none of ours does. Also, we have been trending more and more towards Organic which by its status as Organic could not possibly contain GMOs.

  • Are your products vegan?

    • We have a selection of products that are vegan. You will see these listed in the product descriptions. Do you have any gluten-free products?

    • Yes, Suzie's Organic Puffed Brown Rice Salted or Unsalted Thin Cakes; Organic Salted Corn or Corn with Sesame & Quinoa and Buckwheat with Quinoa & Flax Thin Cakes are Gluten Free. Our Oat Milk is also gluten-free.

  • What is the difference between organic and non-GMO?

    • Each label requires brands to go through a verification and testing process. In short, non-GMO ensures products do not contain genetically modified organisms. Organic follows the same guidelines with added protection against antibiotics, synthetic pesticides, and artificial flavors and colors.

    • Take a look at this handy chart from Boston Organics explaining the differences.

  • What is Spelt?

Due to the unusually high content of selenium, which is a mineral known for its high antioxidant capacity, KAMUT ® Khorasan wheat can be called a good source of selenium. Because of its higher percentage of lipids, which produce more energy in the body than carbohydrates, KAMUT ® Khorasan wheat can be described as "high energy wheat." Athletes, people with busy lives or just anyone looking for high energy food will find products made with KAMUT ® Khorasan wheat a valuable addition to their diet.

  • Does KAMUT® Khorasan contain gluten?

    • Yes, for most people who are sensitive to wheat, products made with KAMUT® Khorasan wheat can be an excellent substitute for common wheat. Since KAMUT® Khorasan wheat contains gluten, it's not recommended for people suffering from celiac disease. You can find more information at kamut.com.

Oat Milk

  • Your oat milk has only two ingredients (water, oats) but 14-grams of sugar. How is this possible?

    • Our oat milk truly is simply water and oats. Regarding the sugar content, during production natural enzymes are used to break down the starches (carbohydrates) in the oats. Carbohydrates break down into smaller, simpler sugar molecules that provide for a smoother, sweeter taste. No sugars are added. The process almost mimics what your body would do.

  • Is your oat milk gluten-free?

    • Oats are inherently gluten-free. However, they cannot be certified as such unless they are processed and stored in a gluten-free facility, and ours is not. That said we do check for cross-contamination and there are less than the allowable 20 parts per million.

  • Is your oat milk produced in a facility that has gluten products?

    • Our facility processes gluten products on the same line but it is cleaned and sterilized in between production runs.

  • Is your oat milk organic and non-GMO?

    • Our oat milk is non-GMO but is not organic.

  • Are your oats treated with herbicides?

    • Our oats are not sprayed with herbicides.

  • How is your oat milk shelf stable?

    • The shelf-stable cartons are packaged in an aseptic format that produces a totally sterile environment, resulting in a product with a longer shelf life and no need for refrigeration (until it’s been opened for the first time, that is).
